920 pattern, officially known as "Sunburst and File" The design is the No. 920 pattern, officially known as "Sunburst and File" (also commonly referred to by collectors as "Hobstar and File" Design Features The pattern is characterized by a large hobstar (the central multi-pointed star) set within an arched panel, flanked by vertical "files" (the ladder-like textured columns). These pieces are noted for their "glossy finish" and the way the deep-pressed patterns catch and refract light. It is Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG). While it mimics the look of expensive "Brilliant Period" cut glass, it was made by pressing molten glass into a highly detailed mold.
