Paneled Grape (Line 1881)
Line 1881, commonly known as the Paneled Grape line, was first introduced in 1949. Leonard Mayhugh, head mould maker for Westmoreland at that time, is often cited as the chief designer of this very popular pattern. Paneled Grape was produced primarily in milk glass but it was also produced in an array of other colors. The moulds from this line were sold primarily to Gary and Dodi Levi who allowed Fenton and other companies to produce glass out of these original moulds. These moulds are still stored at Fenton. The Plum Glass Company of Plum, Pennsylvania owned the Ice Tea Tumbler mould but it is believed that this mould was scrapped. 11 Picture(s), last one added on 10/12/2012 9:43
