Village Church Candy Container
Pictured is the Village Church Candy Container which shows a white brick church. The windows have brown frames, dark gray shingles on the roof, and a gray-shaded foundation. The back of the container displays a small attached structure with two small stained glass windows. Three variations were produced by the West Brothers.  DPP Variation A will have a 9/16" square steeple that rises 3/4" above the roof. DPP Variation B has no steeple but has a hole in the roof to hold a metal cross.  Pictured is DPP Variation C which has a steeple that holds a 3/8" high x 5/8" square gilt glass cross. A coin slot can be found on the left side of the roof. Each will include a glass insert and a grasshopper clip to to hold the glass which held the candy. Invariably the Village Church Candy Container (Variation C) is the rarest of the Village Building Candy Container set produced by West Brothers in 1914. Photograph by James Julia Auctioneer.
