Happifat on Drum Candy Container
The Happifat on the Drum candy container was made by the West Bros. for George Borgfeldt and Co., New York City, New York (1881-1962). The piece pictured is beautifully handpainted with a tin enclosure that is marked "Geo Borgfeldt." The mould for this piece was purchased by the late Gary Levi from Westmoreland but subsequently was lost or stolen from him. This piece was reissued by Westmoreland in the 1970s as part of a group of candy containers commemorating Westmoreland's leading contribution to the candy container industry.
