Toy Train Candy Container Patent
J.J. Brainard was the designer and patent holder of this three-piece toy train candy container.  The application for the patent was filed on April 12, 1923 and was granted on November 3, 1925.  The design patent was assigned the number 68,611.  It is interesting to note that Westmoreland was still producing candy containers in the 1920s, which is about 20 years of production of these glass receptacles.  It is also interesting to note that Westmoreland continued to produce candy containers even after George R. West left the company in 1921.
