WESTMORELAND GLASS COLLECTORS CLUB 2010 CONVENTION, SHOW AND SALE

THE ANNUAL N.W.G.C.C. CONVENTION SHOW AND SALE IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 11^th AND SATURDAY, JUNE 12^th 2010, AT THE WESTMORELAND COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, ARMBRUST ROAD, YOUNGWOOD, PA.

SET-UP FOR DEALERS WILL BE FRIDAY JUNE 11^th , 2010 FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. THE SHOW WILL BE OPEN FOR MEMBERS ONLY 2:00 P.M. TO 5:00 P.M., WITH THE BANQUET/MEETING SCHEDULED FOR 6:00 P.M. WE WILL RE OPEN ON SATURDAY, JUNE 12^th AT 9:00 A.M. IT’S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS TO FIND THAT SPECIAL PIECE AND/OR TO SELL THEIR ITEMS, NOT TO MENTION SEEING OLD FRIENDS AND MEET NEW ONES. DETAILED INFORMATION REGARDING THE CONVENTION/MEETING WILL BE FORTHCOMING.

OTHER EVENTS FOR THE WEEKEND INCLUDE ANTIQUES ON THE DIAMOND IN LIGONIER AND THE MONTHLY OUTDOOR ANTIQUE SHOW AT HANNASTOWN.

OUR LOCAL ANTIQUE SHOPS CARRY A LARGE SELECTION OF WESTMORELAND GLASS AT REASONABLE PRICES AND THERE ARE MANY EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. WHILE YOU’RE HERE, VISIT THE LOVELY LAUREL HIGHLANDS, SEVEN SPRINGS RESORT, NEMACOLIN WOODLANDS, THE FLIGHT 93 MEMORIAL, QUECREEK MINE RESCUE SITE, AND THE MANY, MANY PITTSBURGH AREA ATTRACTIONS AND AMUSEMENTS. WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO SPEND A FEW EXTRA DAYS.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the regular monthly meeting of the N.W.G.C.C. has been changed to the third Tuesday of each month at Persichetti's Restaurant, N. Fourth Street, Jeannette, PA. at 7:00 P.M. If desired, a tasty meal can be purchased before the meeting. Hope to see you there.

The National Westmoreland Glass Collectors Club meetings are held at the Persichetti's Restaurant, 101 South 3th Street, Jeannette PA, Phone 724-527-5553, at 7:00 PM on the Second Tuesday of each month. Join us at 6 PM and enjoy a meal and/or dessert, along with good conversation. Meetings are followed by a show-and-tell period, in which we seek to become more informed about this remarkable glassware.

Note: Meetings are no longer held at the Pitzer's Townhouse Restaurant.

Westmoreland Glass Company History

In 1889 a group of investors took the risk of founding a glass company - it became the Westmoreland Glass Company of Grapeville, Pennsylvania and had a successful history that spanned nearly 100 years. These intrepid individuals did more than start a glass factory - they touched all our lives by giving us the beautiful handmade glassware we collect and cherish today.
